Neuron tracing plug-ins are not working on the Vaa3d software
I started playing around with this software and I am using the
latest version that is out right now, Vaa3D Release v6.007.
When I click under plug-ins and choose neuron tracing tab, there
are different options: ray shooting, dfs, etc... When I click on
ray shooting or dfs, the software completely freezes. I also tried
Cwlab_method1_version1 under the neuron tracing tab and I got a
message that said, "Need to convert image to be UINT8." How do I
convert an image from a tif file to a UINT8 file? Also how can I
get these other neuron tracing plug-ins to work on this software?

RE: Neuron tracing plug-ins are not working on the Vaa3d software
Hi!
First ,you can use the latest version Vaa3D-x.1.0.8 (https://github.com/Vaa3D/release/release...).
For neuron tracing plugins, there are many plugins you can choose (under the neuron tracing menu of plugins).I will suggest you to use Vaa3D-Neuon2/app2 to do tracing, for it is most common use.And you can also try other tracing plugins to compare different tracing result.
For convert an image to a UINT8 file ,you can use the plugin data_type/Convert_8_16_32_bits_data (you can see in plugin menu).
Best,
Lingli

RE: Neuron tracing plug-ins are not working on the Vaa3d software
Hi Lingli,
Great! I downloaded the new version of the software on the mac. Just to be sure, is my image already in a UINT8 file if the Voxel type below the image says UINT8?
Respectfully,
Anthony

Hi Anthony!
yes, it is a UINT8 image if the Voxel type below the image says UINT8.

Thanks! Do you also know how I can change the color of the
landmarks that I have set in tri-view mode?

Hi!
you can try to click the Object Manager in the right Controls/Surf/Object panel in see in 3D viewer, there has Color options.
